ValueOne is recruiting a Strategic Technical Buyer for AB Alfort & Cronholm in Jönköping. We are looking for an experienced buyer responsible for driving and developing long-term purchasing strategies as well as managing development projects. It is a broad role involving everything from implementing a long-term strategy, developing products, performing operational purchasing tasks, and frequently visiting suppliers and trade fairs around the world.

AB Alfort & Cronholm was founded in 1906 and is today a leading supplier of painting tools and accessories, as well as chemicals for the Nordic paint and construction trade. Alfort produces and develops painting tools and accessories under its own brands Mäster, QPT, Konkret, and Elkrav for both consumers and professional painters, and also distributes other well-known brands within the product category. The company has its headquarters in Bromma, with a central warehouse in Nykvarn and development and purchasing offices for painting tools in Jönköping.

The company is in an expansive phase and is now recruiting this role for our team at the development and purchasing office in Jönköping.

About the role

As a Strategic Buyer, you will be responsible for developing and implementing long-term purchasing strategies and managing development projects that enhance the company's competitiveness and ensure quality, delivery reliability, and cost-effectiveness in the company's purchasing and production processes. The role is an important part of the purchasing and development team for painting tools and accessories and will have significant opportunities to influence future developments.

• Develop and implement purchasing strategies in line with the business area's goals
• Drive development projects within selected product categories
• Manage operational purchasing including needs analysis based on forecast and production plan, order placement, shipping, and customs clearance.
• Ensure compliance with sustainability requirements and quality and environmental certifications such as FSC, BASTA, Byggvarubedömningen, etc.
• Build and develop long-term relationships with suppliers globally, as well as conduct supplier negotiations and establish agreements in consultation with the Purchasing Manager
• Manage deviations and quality issues with our suppliers, warehouse, and sales organization.
• Report to the Purchasing Manager and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within purchasing and the supply chain

Experience and skills

For the role of Strategic Buyer, a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in strategic purchasing in manufacturing companies or suppliers to retail, including experience with global suppliers, negotiations, and product development processes, is required. A good technical understanding of product development and production, as well as experience in operational purchasing, is essential. Relevant education in engineering, industrial economics, or other relevant education for the role is advantageous. Good IT skills, a driver's license, and fluency in Swedish and English, both spoken and written, are required.

As a person, you are strategic, business-oriented, and structured with high drive and good communication skills. You have an eye for detail but also easily understand the broader perspective. You thrive in a team environment in an international and entrepreneurial setting and have an unpretentious attitude and the ability to build relationships and drive projects independently from idea to implementation.
